Medina del Campo has an excellent geographical location in the heart of Castilla y León, a privileged road and rail communications centre 155 km from Madrid.
Villa de las Ferias, its famous 15th- and 16th-century fairs are remembered thanks to an attractive annual fairs programme. Medina, furniture town and commercial historical centre; its shops have opened on Sundays since the 19th century. Historical, monumental town, its historical centre, which was designated as a historical-artistic site in 1978, is well worth seeing and visitors should make sure they don't miss the Castle of La Mota, the Palace of the Royal Executor of Isabella the Catholic, the Huellas de Pasión Centre, the Royal Butchery and the Fairs Museum. The town has twice been designated as a site with festivals of tourist interest: traditional bull runs (national designation) and Holy Week (international designation). It is a gastronomical town with baby lamb as its star product and it is also in the excellent area in which white wines are grown and made under the Rueda Designation of Origin.
